2023 ASEEES Board of Directors Elections

The elections for the ASEEES Board of Directors are held annually in the summer. This year, there are four seats up for election: the President-Elect/Vice President, the two Members-at-Large serving three-year terms from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026, and a Graduate Student Representative serving a two-year term from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025.

2024 VICE PRESIDENT / PRESIDENT-ELECT

The Vice President is elected annually by ASEEES members and is designated President-Elect. After serving one year as Vice President, they become the President the following year. After one year in the presidency, the President is designated Immediate Past President and serves an additional year as a member of the Board of Directors. (vote for one)

  • Adrienne Edgar, Professor of Modern Russian and Central Asian History, UC Santa Barbara

  • Shoshana Keller, Professor of Russian and Eurasian History, Hamilton College

2024-2026 MEMBERS AT LARGE

Two members-at-large are elected each year by ASEEES members, to hold office for three (3) years. (vote for not more than two)

  • Antonina Berezovenko, Associate Professor of Ukrainian Language, Literature, and Culture, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"

  • Amy Bryzgel, Teaching Professor of Art History, Northeastern University

  • Rory Finnin, Professor of Ukrainian Studies, University of Cambridge

  • Stephen Badalyan Riegg, Associate Professor of History, Texas A&M University

2024-2025 GRADUATE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE

One graduate student representative is elected every other year by ASEEES members, to hold office for two (2) years. (vote for not more than one)

  • Griffin Creech, Department of History, University of Pennsylvania

  • Brian Yang, Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Only current student members can vote for the Graduate Student Representative.

Information about how to vote electronically will be distributed by email to current members by July 7. Paper ballots will be distributed to members without email addresses on file and those who have requested them. Please send paper ballot request to aseees@pitt.edu.  

Voting will end on September 1, 2023.
